About the event

Join us for an information packed session and learn how to use nutrition as a tool to support you during the different stages of the female cycle.

Women’s bodies are complex and ever-changing. Nutrition can play an important role in ensuring that your body is working optimally and can support you in managing any symptoms you experience. Find out how you can feel at your best at every stage of your life cycle!

She is passionate about helping people making sense of the healthy eating guidelines and adapt the information based on their individual needs and other conditions they may have. Penny’s special interests include eating disorders & disordered eating, as well as female health and sports nutrition.

Who is this event for:

This seminar is relevant to anyone who identifies as female and has a menstrual cycle, or any anyone currently experiencing or expecting to soon experience peri-menopausal symptoms. It is also relevant for women who have already gone through menopause. Menopause occurs when you have not had a menstrual period for the last 12 months. Peri-menopause is the period leading up to menopause and can last a few months or even years.

Feel free to bring along your mum, sister, mother in law, daughter or granddaughter as this is a great opportunity for everyone to better understand how their body can change during every month, but also throughout the years. Alternatively, you may want to attend with your friends or co-workers, and gain valuable knowledge that can improve your energy, satisfaction gained from sports and day to day activities, and mood state.

The modern culture has historically prevented us from being open with our friends and family members about how we feel physically and mentally in relation to our hormonal cycle, menstruation, and transition to menopause. Let’s all join the effort that is being made worldwide to reduce the stigma that is often attached to these conversations.

By attending this workshop you will learn:

-The different stages of the menstrual cycle and how it affects us.

-What symptoms are linked to your menstrual cycle and how to use your diet to alleviate those. For example, we will cover gastrointestinal symptoms, food cravings, energy levels.

-Nutritional considerations for when you are approaching menopause and how food can support you with reducing associated symptoms, and reducing risk of health problems linked with the post-menopause phase

-If certain vitamin/mineral supplements or herbal supplements can help you with any of your menstrual or menopausal symptoms

We will discuss lots of specific dietary tips and practical examples on how to implement the dietary recommendations into your current routine. You will have the chance to write down some practical actionable steps with pen and paper and implement changes immediately if you wish. At the same time, you can still gather all the information, and allow some time for reflection, while you figure out how to adapt your routine successfully and sustainably. Every person has their own pace when it comes to lifestyle changes and that’s ok!

Handouts with detailed information on the topics discussed (diet and menstrual health, PMS, transition to menopause) will also be shared.

This will be a fun and useful discussion to help you understand what your body signals are trying to tell you and use the right dietary approach to support your wellbeing.
